The Truth About Having An Internet Marketing Strategy
Written by dsiew on April 28, 2008 – 1:32 pm -When you start to see some results in your Internet Marketing efforts, it’s time to get serious. There are many ways to make money online such as promoting you own product or do affiliate marketing using Adwords, blogging and article submission. However, there is a learning curve before the first dollar gets into your bank account. But once it happens, you’ve got a breakthrough! Something you’ve tried, worked. So it is only logical to repeat the technique. Unfortunately, many marketers’ success journey may be short lived by using the very same single technique.
It is important to focus on the Internet Marketing technique that you feel comfortable and works for you. But keep the blinds off. You should have a bigger picture, an Internet Marketing strategy, of where you’d like to go. A typical reminder was the recent change in policy by eBay to stop marketers from promoting digital products under fixed-priced items or in eBay Auctions. I saw many marketers suddenly lost their income stream and have to scramble in repositioning their products to get in line with the new policy. So it’s a lesson learnt not to put all your eggs into one basket. And the fact is, Internet Marketing is one of the unique business models that you can create multiple streams of income. However, many marketers stop short of doing so. Why? Because it takes time and effort in adopting certain techniques to work for you. And it becomes harder if you do not have an Internet Marketing strategy. It’s just like, without knowing where you would like to travel to, learning to ride a bike or to fly a plane will still not get you there. Even when you have decided your final destination, you will still have to plan the route to reach it.
So to be successful in Internet Marketing, you have to have your goals and then plan how you are going to reach them. I am also on such a journey and found that the laziest way is to observe marketers who are ahead of me in the game. Many of the well known Internet Marketers like John Reese, Yaro Starak, Willie Crawford, regularly share their experiences and techniques. Read their blogs and subscribe to their newsletters. Regularly dedicate some of your time in researching what they are up to, take notes, pick up a few techniques that might interest you and gradually add them to your Internet Marketing strategy. Unfortunately, it is not an easy feat. Any other Internet Marketer will tell you it is not the lack of information, but the overwhelming of it. Take it from the positive end to have so much experience and knowledge being tested and shared, all conveniently available with a few clicks. So embrace and use them to develop your own strategy.
Internet Marketing is a business, even when you are in it for fun. Gaining knowledge and developing a business strategy will ensure you can have your fun longer and would eventually increase your income.
